PANCREAS IN SEPTEMBER

In the second half of September our Pancreas becomes the most sensitive organ in our body. It is the maintainer and nourisher of all mucous membranes in our body.
Pancreas is a pinkish or light tan organ of the digestive system and endocrine system of vertebrates.
It is located in the upper abdomen behind the Stomach.
Pancreas serves as two glands in one; a digestive exocrine gland, like the Liver, they both secrete products- bile and pancreatic juice into the gastrointestinal track through ducts.
It serves also as a hormone-producing endocrine gland; it secretes other substances directly into the bloodstream.
Pancreas contains both endocrine and exocrine cells.
Enzymes and digestive juices are secreted by the Pancreas into the Small Intestine.
The Pancreas produces the hormone insulin and secretes it into the bloodstream, where it regulates the body's glucose or sugar level.
Insulin is a hormone made by the Pancreas that allows to use sugar (glucose) from carbohydrates in the food that you eat for energy or to store glucose for future use.
Glucose is a vital to your health, it's an important source of energy for the cells that make up your muscles and tissues. It is also brain's main source of fuel. Glucose comes from the food and from the Liver (Liver makes and stores glucose). Sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream, where it enters cells with the help of insulin.
The Pancreas makes digestive juices that are released into the small bowel after meals to break down and digest food. As the food is digested, the Pancreas produces insulin to help the body store the glucose (energy).
Another hormone produced by the Pancreas is glucagon. Glucagon helps to release the energy into the bloodstream from where it is stored. Therefore, glucagon and insulin work to control the balance of glucose in the bloodstream. There are even more hormones produced by the Pancreas.
DIABETES
Diabetes is an imbalance that can occur when your blood glucose is too high. Insulin, a hormone made by the Pancreas, helps glucose to get into your cells from food to be used for energy. Diabetes is a condition that impairs the body's ability to process nutrients properly. The result is an abnormal levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood.
Symptoms of diabetes:
increased thirst or hunger, dry mouth, frequent urination, fatigue, headaches, unexplained weight loss and more
Symptoms vary depending on how much your blood sugar is elevated.
Factors:
weight, lack of exercise, inactivity, high blood pressure, family history, poor diet....
Good foods for diabetes:
leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, celery, Brussels sprouts,
grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, turkey....
wild-caught salmon, tuna
eggs, coconut, avocado, olive oil, probiotics, bone broth,
lots of water
fruits, nuts, seeds in moderation
magnesium
avoid bread, pasta, cereal, lentils, beans, potatoes and starchy vegetables, snack foods and sugar-sweetened beverages, avoid toxins in food
exercise regularly - dancing, aerobic, walking, swimming, biking....
Enjoy the sweetness of life, have an ability to digest your life easily. If you have a diabetes, pay attention if you "starve for love, for the sweetness of life".
The Pancreas likes vegetables, some fruits, plenty of water, low-fat diet, whole grains and no alcohol and smoking.
THE SPLEEN/PANCREAS MERIDIAN
The Spleen Meridian governs both the Spleen and Pancreas organs. The Spleen and Pancreas regulate the quantity and quality of blood in circulation and coordinate with the Kidneys to control fluid balance throughout the Spleen. They also control extraction and assimilation of nutrients from food and fluids by providing the digestive enzymes and energy required by the Stomach and Small Intestine.
The Spleen/Pancreas Meridian connects with other Meridians in the body. The Meridian starts from the tip of the great toe, it travels up the leg, reaches the area of knees, thighs, abdomen; it continues upward beneath the breasts, armpit area. It has also secondary energy pathways going to the root of the tongue.
Functions of the Meridian:
- influencing the production of Qi energy and blood
- influencing the activity of the muscles and the function of the mouth (taste)
- treating problems with food digestion and metabolism
- improving circulation of the blood namely in the uterus (helps with painful menstruation)
-calming your spirit
People with an imbalanced Spleen-Pancreas Meridian can show signs of worry, excessive thinking, pensiveness or self-doubt. People with a healthy Spleen-Pancreas Meridian energy flow are full of trust, acceptance and openness.
It is beneficial to pay attention to this Meridian every day between 9am to 11am. It is our (after) breakfast time. The Spleen handles our breakfast food from the Stomach and extracts the break-down food to supply other organs in the body.
If you skip your breakfast, it means no breakfast food - no new energy into your body - your brain will need more sugar - it means more stress in your body - more insulin release = problems begin
To keep the Spleen and Pancreas healthy, together with their Meridian energy pathway, is very important for your health. Especially for women with menstruation disorders including PMS. The Spleen Meridian needs to be strengthened and trace backward and forward. Follow its pathways gently with your hands.
There are a few points good to know when you gently massage or follow the Meridian energy pathway:
Spleen 1 - this first point regulates the Spleen and blood; calms the Heart and stops bleeding
Spleen 3 - This point harmonizes the Spleen and Stomach
Spleen 6 - a very important point, Liver and Kidney pathways pass through here, this point calms the spirit, reduces the stress, harmonizes the Spleen and Stomach, it is very useful for PMS and painful or irregular menstruation
There are more acupressure points on the Meridian so are neurolymphatic reflex points beneath the breasts and acupuncture points beneath the armpits. You can gently tap or massage them. To learn more, talk to your alternative medicine practitioner or energy medicine specialist.

If you pay loving attention to your Spleen and Pancreas with their Meridian channel and regularly tap under your breasts, under your armpit, massage the first Spleen point on your big toe, you will feel great, you will have more energy and your "menses troubles" will improve.
Have a beautiful rest of September and don't forget to create joy and sweetness in your life!
