The Body's Regulator in the Brain

Updated: May 10

Deep into the center of our brain there is a little pinecone-shaped gland which some people think it is the gateway to higher consciousness and the key to our spiritual awakening. It is the source of our clairvoyance and intuition.

This gland is called the Pineal Gland, it sits in the brain on the eye level. Sometimes it is called "The third eye" and it is associated with the third eye chakra. It is located beneath the cerebral cortex where two hemispheres of the brain join. This is the place where the brain regulates consciousness.

The gland produces dimethyltryptamine (DMT)- a very powerful psychedelic substance, a hallucinogen, during deep meditation, or during extreme physical stress or near-death experience.

During near-death experience the pineal gland gets more awakened and brings higher awareness to open up more visions, clairvoyance and connect to higher energies. It can also influence our dream consciousness when it is released into the bloodstream during the REM phase of sleep. DMT is in the brain's cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid is a clear fluid in the brain and spinal cord. It protects our brain and spinal cord from trauma. It supplies nutrients to our nervous system tissue and also removes waste products from cerebral metabolism. The Pineal Gland is bathed in highly charged cerebrospinal fluid.

The Pineal Gland is an endocrine gland- one of the ductless glands of the endocrine system that secrete their products, hormones, directly into the blood.

The Pineal Gland also produces Melatonin - a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It helps us sleep. The Pineal Gland receives signals that travel down the optic nerves. This gland functioned as a sight organ before our current set of eyes. Scientists think that the Pineal Gland was actually our first eye a long time ago. It receives light information from the eyes and then sends out hormonal message to the body (it tells our body whether it's light or dark and what season is).

Your levels of Melatonin are boosted when it is dark. Lack of Melatonin can cause sleeplessness or insomnia.

It has a connection with our "body clock", the circadian rhythm and hibernation of animals. A circadian rhythm is a natural internal process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It repeats roughly 24 hours.

The Pineal Gland regulates onset of puberty. It controls sexual maturation. After puberty it shrinks a little and it releases less Melatonin.

Melatonin has an opposite job from Serotonin, which is produced in the brain and the intestines.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, " a happy chemical", someone calls it a hormone as well. Serotonin is connected to daytime, when we are awake, it increases positivity, relaxation and feeling of being energized. Serotonin is transformed into melatonin only in the Pineal Gland.

Melatonin and Serotonin must work in harmony to keep the body balanced.

What does the Pineal Gland doesn't like?

Calcification = happens when the Gland is shut down by accumulation of calcium salts (called the brain sand, which is made of calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, magnesium phosphate, ammonium phosphate), it can't work properly and it can shrink. A long time ago yoga masters had their Pineal Gland big as a lemon, in our modern era we have it in the size of a small pea. It is shrinking thanks to our modern lifestyle. Poor diet, toxins exposure, modern time stress conditions make the Gland hardened, calcified and even shut down. The Gland calcifies with age, which can cause even a pineal cyst. Melatonin is reduced and our sleep patterns can be in danger, we can have severe sleep disorders by disturbing Melatonin secretion.

The no.1 enemy is fluoridated public water!! Children reach puberty earlier as a consequence of fluoridated water. Research shows that fluoridated water causes arthritis and atherosclerosis also, mainly in the USA, where the water is very fluoridated.

The Pineal Gland is very sensitive to synthetic, industrial toxic chemicals such as fluoride, chlorine in water and other toxic metals in the environment. The Gland can't work properly, it shrinks and decreases production of Melatonin - we are out of balance, can't sleep and even our reproductive system is out of balance. Our brains don't work properly and we start to be disconnected from each other and from our bodies.

Fluoride accumulates as phosphate crystals, creating a hard shell around the Pineal called calcification.

Our Enemies:

toxins in the environment and synthetic vitamins, pills etc.

stress

poor diet

electromagnetic field ( cell phones, computers ......)

Fluoride toothpastes

preservatives, pesticides in food

How to detox and activate the Pineal Gland?

- drink pure water, use water filters

- use fluoride-free toothpaste

- don't use synthetic calcium supplements

- get calcium from food (kale, spinach, broccoli, sesame, chia or poppy seeds, quinoa, almonds, seafood like salmon, figs, and more )

- eat alkaline diet, green veggies, parsley, turmeric, chlorella, spirulina, seaweeds, wheatgrass, - oregano oil, organic whole foods; no sugar, no caffeine and no alcohol,

- use lemon and raw apple cider vinegar daily in your water

- use apple cider vinegar at home

- take iodine (algae)

- rub turmeric on your forehead when relaxing

- don't use cheap commercial brands tea like Lipton - those cheap teas have lots of industrial fluoride in them, cheap tea brands usually use old lower quality sources of tea

- don't use nonstick cookware, get eco friendly one and a better quality one

- spend less time with your electronics devices ; the pineal gland is suppressed by electromagnetic fields released by cell phones and other devices

- be outside and connect with nature and practise gazing at the rising sun as the yoga master did centuries ago. At dawn, the earth's magnetic field is charged, making it the best time to meditate, as it stimulates the Gland.

- meditate mornings and evenings - dawn is the best time to meditate as it stimulates the Pineal Gland more.

- sleep in the dark room with closed curtains and no electronics devices in the room

- practise Yoga ( inversion poses to direct the blow flow to the brain), Taichi, Qi - Gong.....

Pay attention to your Ajna Chakra, when you meditate, pay loving attention to your body, to your Heart, to your breathing. Slow down, focus, use imagination, love yourself, your body, send love to your Heart first, pay attention to your eyes, take care of them, send loving energy to them and to the forehead area. The Pineal Gland has probably the highest concentration of energy in the body and lots of blood flow.

Meditation is good for you, practise slowly, you don't need to "fly high " like some gurus or visionaries. In ancient times people discovered the DMT during their meditations, for them it was an experience like being on drugs nowadays. Remember that some people tell us about their spiritual experiences to 'wow us' and to open our wallets for them. We admire them, want them to teach us, we pay them for their classes as they become richer and richer as we pay them. They are still mortal like we are and they will be.

Remember first to love yourself. Approve yourself.

Breathe to the belly and practise the Spinal Cord breathing to stimulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and to activate the Pineal Gland.

Tap gently your forehead between your eyebrows to send vibration to the Gland in your brain.

You can press your tongue to the roof of your mouth to harmonize the Gland.

Squeeze your Mula Bandha, and then your eyes and breathe, focus on your brain, send love thoughts to that area.

You can reduce stress, be more self-aware, focused, grounded, centered, be emotionally healthier and much more!
